New Heavy Duty - 12 Guage - Barrel Type - Stainless Steel Continuous Hinges

Stanley Security Solutions, Inc. is pleased to announce the expansion of barrel type 640/650 series continuous hinges with the launch of three new heavy duty (650HD) models. The new 650HD line is highly suitable for healthcare and correctional facilities where high use and abuse is expected and will support doors weighing up to 900lbs and up to 4’ in width. The heavy duty 12 gauge design incorporates top and bottom stainless steel bearings to prevent door sagging during a fire.

All other bearings are dust resistant, self lubricating medical bearings. Vic Zalecki, Product Manager explains, “Medical bearings that Staney employs contain solid lubricants that contribute to low dynamic and static coefficient of friction and when combined with elements that complete it’s chemical and physical make up result in low abrasion and longer, more dependable life. They are also anti static and UV resistant. Safety and reliability depends on the performance of the hinge system.”

The hinges are available with many popular options, such as hospital tips, concealed electric, EPT, etc. Standard finish is satin stainless steel 32D (630). Polished stainless steel, US32 (629) and special powder coat finishes are also available.

The hinges are:

• UL and ULC certified to UL10C Standard for up to and including 3 hours for 4’x10’ single doors and 8’x 10’ pairs of doors.
• In conformance to ANSI/BHMA Standard A156.26 Grade 1‐150 (150 Lb test door weight, 2,500,000 closing/opening cycles), Grade 1‐300 (300 Lb test door weight, 1,000,000 closing/opening cycles).
• BHMA Certified.
• For doors weighing up to 900 Lb, not exceeding 4’ in width.
• Equipped with top and bottom stainless steel bearings to prevent door sagging during a fire.
• Furnished with medical bearings standard.
• Covered by Stanley’s LifeSpan® limited lifetime warranty.

Along with the introduction of the new heavy duty models, Stanley’s existing standard duty 640 and 650 series now employ the new medical bearings at no additional cost to the customer.
